Meccha Chameleon map list

Choose the right map for your player count before starting the round. Smaller groups (2-3 players) fit well in Osaka and Indoor Country. Larger groups (4+ players) thrive with more rooms, verticality, and visual variety in Kyoto, Art Museum, Shopping Mall, Deep Sea, Death Burger, Backrooms, and Hide-and-Seek Mansion.

  • Kyoto (4.1.0): Developer image shows stairs, a lattice roof, and Japanese-themed decorations
  • Art Museum (4.1.0): Officially confirmed addition; map image and layout verification pending
  • Shopping Mall (3.9.0): Developer image shows tall shelving, merchandise, columns, and display bins
  • Exit 8 (3.5.0): Official collaboration subway corridor with repeating yellow and white tile walls
  • Deep Sea: Dark underwater floor, rock edges, teal waters, and dramatic vertical swimming areas
  • Death Burger: Fast-food counter, dining tables, kitchen equipment, menus, and saturated signboards
  • Backrooms: Yellow wallpaper halls, office cubicles, trash piles, chairs, and patrol vehicle corners
  • Hide-and-Seek Mansion: Grand ballroom, study bookshelves, storage rooms, vases, and shadowy corners
  • Indoor Country: Hay bales, pumpkins, horse props, wooden fences, and hot-air balloons
  • Osaka: Vibrant street signs, trucks, ramen stalls, trash bags, and iconic octopus storefront decor
  • Penguin Hotel: Plush toys, balloons, second-floor mezzanine, guest suites, and corridors
  • Sewer: Lockers, trash cans, pipes, graffiti walls, damp brick, and dim subterranean lighting
  • Sugarland: Gingerbread houses, cakes, candy canes, strawberries, and elevated sugar platforms
  • Greece & Egypt Rework (4.1.0): Overhauled hitboxes and lighting, plus individual toggle support in map rotation

Are Kitchen, Gallery, and Party Room separate maps?

Many players search for Kitchen, Gallery, or Party Room after seeing screenshots, trailers, or mansion rooms. Treat those as rooms, wall-decoration areas, or prop clusters inside a larger map rather than standalone maps like Backrooms, Sewer, or Osaka.

  • Kitchen: usually a room or kitchen area inside Mansion; check cabinets, table edges, and wall corners
  • Gallery: usually frames, paintings, wall decor, or corridor displays
  • Party Room: usually balloons, decorations, tables, and chairs used as hiding props
  • If a search result lists a room as a map, match it against the map image before planning a route

Backrooms hiding spots

Backrooms rewards players who break up their outline. Do not only match the yellow wall; use chairs, trash, desks, office corners, and vehicle shadows to hide the body shape from the hunter.

Backrooms

Check chairs, trash, office corners, and vehicle areas.

  • Put your outline into clutter rather than a flat wall
  • Use corners where a hunter has to stop and turn
  • Look back down long corridors to catch odd silhouettes

Hide-and-Seek Mansion hiding spots

In Hide-and-Seek Mansion, hunters often check the large rooms first. Use bookcases, chairs, storage clutter, vases, and dark walls to make your pose look like part of the room.

Hide-and-Seek Mansion

Check the ballroom, study, storage rooms, and vase corners.

  • Avoid standing alone in wide open rooms
  • Use dark corners and furniture edges
  • Choose poses that fit under chairs or near shelves

Indoor Country hiding spots

Indoor Country is beginner-friendly because props are easy to recognize. Hay, pumpkins, fences, and horse props are useful, but hunters will also check them quickly, so match both color and side view.

Indoor Country

Check hay, pumpkins, horse props, fences, and balloons.

  • Use hay and pumpkins for low poses
  • Check your side profile before the hunter arrives
  • Avoid the center until you know the hunter route

Osaka hiding spots

Osaka is smaller and faster. Decide your hiding route before the match starts: signs, shop interiors, truck shadows, trash bags, and narrow alleys can all work if your outline is not obvious.

Osaka

Check signs, trucks, shops, trash bags, and lanes.

  • Use signs and upper angles if hunters forget to look up
  • Hide near shop props and wooden boxes
  • Low poses work well near trash bags and fallen objects

Penguin Hotel hiding spots

Penguin Hotel has many soft shapes and repeated colors, which makes shape matching just as important as paint. Use plush rooms, balloons, bedrooms, bathrooms, and the second floor carefully.

Penguin Hotel

Check plush rooms, ballroom areas, bedrooms, and the second floor.

  • Match the roundness of plush toys and balloons
  • Use beds, desks, and bathroom edges
  • Watch how your body looks from below on the second floor

Sewer hiding spots

Sewer is a dark industrial map where pipes, graffiti, cans, lockers, and wet-floor reflections can split your outline. Hiders should use graffiti walls and pipe shadows without painting too brightly; seekers should scan walls and reflections section by section.

Sewer

Check lockers, flooded areas, cans, graffiti, and pipes.

  • Use graffiti walls to break the body into noisy color patches
  • Hide near pipes, red cans, lockers, and wall corners
  • Keep paint slightly darker in shadowed areas
  • Seekers should clear graffiti walls, cans, lockers, and pipe shadows in order

Sugarland hiding spots

Sugarland is bright, so white unpainted parts stand out. Candy, cake, strawberries, gingerbread, and high ground all work better when you align your pose with shadows and object edges.

Sugarland

Check candy houses, gummy areas, cakes, strawberries, and high ground.

  • Fix white leftovers before the hunter arrives
  • Use candy shadows instead of flat bright walls
  • Check high spots from the hunter angle

Deep Sea hiding spots

Deep Sea is the new map from update3.6.0. Treat the underwater setting as an outline and brightness problem first: dark edges, rock shapes, blue-green backgrounds, sea-floor props, and height changes can hide a body better than flat dark-blue paint.

Deep Sea

Check dark edges, rock shapes, sea-floor props, blue-green backgrounds, and height changes.

  • Use rocks, sea-floor props, and dark edges to break up your outline
  • Match brightness as carefully as color in blue-green areas
  • Seekers should clear entrances, open water, shadowed edges, and high-low angles

Death Burger hiding spots

Death Burger is the new map from update2.8.0. Treat the fast-food setting as a shape and shadow problem first: counters, tables, kitchen equipment, menu boards, signs, and doorway sightlines can hide an outline better than flat red or yellow paint.

Death Burger

Check counters, tables, kitchen equipment, menu boards, sign shadows, and room corners.

  • Hide near counter edges, table legs, kitchen equipment, and menu-board shadows
  • Fix white paint leftovers before using saturated red or yellow areas
  • Seekers should check behind counters, table spacing, kitchen entrances, and sign shadows

Egypt hiding spots

Egypt has bright walls, pillars, entrances, steps, and height changes that can expose a clean body outline. Hiders should use pillar bases, stair shadows, wall turns, entrance sides, and high-low sightlines instead of standing alone on a flat wall.

Egypt

Check pillar bases, stair shadows, entrance sides, wall turns, and high-low sightlines.

  • Hide near pillars, stairs, wall corners, and shadowed edges
  • Avoid open floors and single-color bright walls
  • Seekers should check entrances, pillar backs, stairs, and high angles

HIKAKIN Museum hiding spots

HIKAKIN Museum works best when you treat it like an exhibition space. Use display stands, wall decorations, furniture legs, room edges, and corridor turns to break up your outline. Seekers should look for extra silhouettes around exhibits, not just scan the center of the room.

HIKAKIN Museum

Check display stands, exhibition walls, furniture edges, room corners, and corridor turns.

  • Hide beside display stands, wall decorations, furniture legs, and door frames
  • Use exhibit edges to split your body outline
  • Seekers should check both sides of stands, furniture backs, and corridor ends

HIKAKIN Museum second view

Use the second view to check angles that are easy to miss from the entrance: furniture backs, exhibit sides, wall decorations, and the far end of corridors. A hiding spot that looks clean from one side can still show an obvious outline from another.

  • Hide behind display objects and furniture sides
  • Use wall decorations to break up color and outline
  • Seekers should check the room from more than one angle

Exit 8 collaboration hiding spots (Update 3.5.0)

The official collaboration map based on the hit indie game 'The Exit 8'. Features iconic endless yellow and white subway corridor tiles, fluorescent lighting, warning posters, and symmetrical doors.

  • Hiders: Sample yellow and white from corridor walls, tactile paving, or door gaps next to posters
  • Seekers: Symmetrical straight hallways make any unexpected protrusion immediately noticeable from a distance

Greece and Egypt map reworks (Update 4.1.0)

In BIG UPDATE 4.1.0, both Greece and Egypt received extensive visual and hitbox reworks. Additionally, hosts can now individually toggle each map on or off in the random map rotation pool (collaboration maps remain off by default).

Clones and map strategy

Clones can change the hunter's search order, but they are not safe bait. Place them away from your real body and use wide maps to split the hunter's attention.

  • Do not place the clone and real body in the same sightline
  • Use wider maps to separate search routes
  • Avoid obvious clone spots that reveal your plan
